Coinciding with the 70th anniversary of the victory in the War of Resistance Against Japan, a series of themed activities titled "Heroes Emerge from the Youth" have been launched around the animated film "Tunnel Warfare: Heroes Emerge from the Youth," aiming to strengthen the ideological and moral development of children and convey positive energy.
"Tunnel Warfare: Heroes Emerge from the Youth" tells the story of the protagonists Gao Xiaotie, Chouwa, Niuniu, and the little dog Laifu, who use their intelligence and wit to assist the guerrilla forces and militiamen in employing tunnel warfare tactics to ultimately defeat the Japanese invaders led by the main antagonist Yamamoto, achieving victory.
The animated film "Tunnel Warfare: Heroes Emerge from the Youth" is a creative reinterpretation of the classic work "Tunnel Warfare," told from the perspective of children. It shapes the image of "anti-Japanese heroes" that can resonate with contemporary young audiences, carrying forward the spirit of patriotism. Gao Xiaotie's father was killed by Japanese invaders while protecting the villagers, and Gao Xiaotie seeks revenge for his father but is repeatedly stopped by others. He struggles to understand—how hiding in tunnels can also be a tactic. Under the guidance of Ma Yuhai, the leader of the armed working team, he gradually comes to understand the significance of the protracted war, realizing that "heroes are not only those who fight in grand battles but also those who make life difficult for the invaders." In the end, Gao Xiaotie, along with his friends Chouwa, Niuniu, and the little dog Laifu, uses their intelligence and wit to assist the armed working team and militiamen in defeating the Japanese invaders led by Yamamoto through tunnel warfare, securing victory.
