In a place called Thneedville, birds sing and flowers bloom, with lush greenery and a prosperous life—yet these are merely surface illusions. All the trees are made from artificial materials, maintained and operated by computers and electricity. Although the air quality is poor, the local residents are content to enjoy the conveniences of modern living, especially since Mr. O'Hare (voiced by Rob Riggle) provides them with fresh bottled air! A young man named Ted (voiced by Zac Efron) secretly admires a beautiful girl named Audrey (voiced by Taylor Swift). To help her realize her dream of seeing a real tree, he takes a risk and leaves Thneedville, venturing into the devastated, polluted, and gloomy outside world in search of the legendary Once-ler, who knows everything about trees. From the Once-ler, Ted learns the story of how this once-successful businessman transformed a paradise filled with Truffula Trees into a barren wasteland. That paradise is now lost forever, unless...
This film is adapted from Dr. Seuss' classic 1971 original work of the same name and won the 2012 Teen Choice Awards for Best Voice (Taylor Swift) and Best Animated Film.
