Annai is a little creature with only one eye, traveling far and wide in search of another eye. He found a tree whose fruits resembled eyes, but monkeys ate them all; he found a peacock's feather, its pattern like an eye, but the peacock fluttered away; he found a joyfully playing band, the holes in their instruments like eyes, but the musicians chased him off; he found a submarine, the periscope's lens like an eye, but he was thrown into the water; he reached the ocean floor, where an octopus's tentacles resembled eyes, but the octopus angrily swam away.
Annai has searched high and low—when will he ever find another eye?
