"The Greatness" is another exploration by Yi Zhou into the boundaries between dream and reality, imagination and madness, truth and falsehood, and the afterlife. Inspired by Dante's "Divine Comedy," Zhou's imagined journey through the circles of hell, purgatory, and paradise appropriates specific images, scenes, and characters from her earlier works, placing them within new and extraordinary environments. These juxtapositions and re-imaginings transform the original references and meanings of the artist into something entirely new and distinct. In "The Greatness," these new realities are rendered with immediacy through the artist's manipulation of 3D technology.
