In 1414, Wu Jun, a crew member of the Ming Dynasty naval fleet, survived a storm in the Indian Ocean and drifted to the coast of Africa. There, he blended Chinese martial arts with observations of local animals to create Xiangxing Quan (Imitation Boxing). Six hundred years later, an African youth practices the opening stance of Xiangxing Quan, his posture faintly evoking memories of the ancient Chinese treasure ships.
