In 1998, after Tezuka's passing, it aired on WOWOW's "Tezuka Osamu Theater" time slot. As mentioned earlier, during his lifetime, Tezuka was not entirely satisfied with the original version and had hoped for certain revisions. 　The audio aspects, including voice actors and music, were completely revamped. Regarding voice actors, guest performer Masayo Kurata mentioned that during recording, she was told, "There are many terms now considered inappropriate, so we are re-recording." Some of the artwork was also revised, with changes such as the abacus school being replaced by a computer classroom to align with the era of 1998. Additionally, some scenes from the original version were removed.
