The anime is adapted from the Song Dynasty notebook novel "Yijian Zhi · Songshan Zhulin Temple," telling the story of a wandering monk's extraordinary encounter. The animation uses a bronze mirror as the "key object" that connects the entire narrative. The wandering monk enters the world within the bronze mirror—a monastery that is both wondrously beautiful and illusory, leaving him momentarily lost in its depths. After gaining and losing it all, the moment he gazes upon his own confused reflection in the mirror, he may have taken one step closer to enlightenment.
