This video is the Japanese director's cut version (2 minutes 30 seconds) of Aniephone "Hey, Listen".
The original work for the fourth installment of Aniephone is "Hey, Listen" by Shimokawara Yumi, a picture book artist who debuted after winning the Grand Prize at the "7th KFS Picture Book Grand Prix" and whose adorable depictions of animals are now attracting worldwide attention.
The gentle world of this work, which has gained global popularity—receiving translation offers from France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Russia, Bulgaria, Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam—is recreated in warm, soft light through this video.
The animation production is handled by Fanworks, known for their expertise in "Kawaii Anime," such as the "Sumikko Gurashi" movie series and "Aggretsuko" (NETFLIX).
The director is Ishitate Namiko, who has contributed to numerous works including "Bakeneko Anzu-chan" (2024 / Animation Director) and "Penguin Highway" (2018 / Director, Prop Design, Background Design).
Being kind makes you want to be kind in return—it's only natural. This is a gem of a story where various animals express their feelings of "I love you" and connect through unconditional love.
Please enjoy this heartwarming animation, filled with a "hug-like" joy that soothes the hearts of both children and adults.
