The theme of the film is the reminiscence of an old man, triggered by listening to an old record of "Rio Rita"—popular in its day, in the classical performance of Marek Weber's orchestra (played by Vladimir Shibankov, actor of the Fyodor Volkov Drama Theater)—about his childhood in Yaroslavl in the 1930s. The historical center of the city (primarily the Volzhskaya Embankment) is shown, and the characteristic features of the era are depicted.
