Young student Wiley Wiggins (played by Wiley Wiggins) received a prophecy from a childhood friend: "Dreams are destiny." As an adult, he finds himself wandering into an unfamiliar city in a daze. Wiley roams the streets, experiencing a variety of magical encounters as if traveling through different dreams. Along the way, he meets all sorts of people: from a driver in a boat-shaped car to a university professor, from a seductive blonde to a manic bespectacled man, from a blonde who sets himself on fire to a group of four with dreadlocks... Each one chatters incessantly, discussing life, ideals, and philosophy. Wiley remains silent, acting as an extremely patient listener. This film was shot by director and screenwriter Richard Linklater using DV live-action footage, which was then "animated" using software. Director Steven Soderbergh also makes an appearance in the film.
