The anime tells the story of Zaoni and Liuwa, who, in order to help Grandpa Jujube Tree and Pomegranate Blossom Fairy rebuild the Guanshi Pomegranate Garden, retrace the Silk Road and travel to the fairy's homeland—Persia—to retrieve the Pomegranate Immortal's secret manual and rebuild their home.
On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the "Belt and Road" Initiative, the large-scale original 52-episode animated series "Silk Road," meticulously produced by Zaozhuang Yijia Animation Co., Ltd., premiered today (November 16, 2023) on CCTV Children's Channel.
Set against the backdrop of the pomegranates introduced to Zaozhuang over 2,000 years ago (the world-record "Guanshi Pomegranate Garden"), the animated series "Silk Road" follows Zaoni and Liuwa as they help Grandpa Jujube Tree and Pomegranate Blossom Fairy rebuild the Guanshi Pomegranate Garden by retracing the Silk Road to the fairy's homeland—Persia—to retrieve the Pomegranate Immortal's secret manual and restore their home. Through the adventures of Zaoni and Liuwa, the series showcases the splendid traditional cultures and fascinating customs of the regions and countries along the Belt and Road. It celebrates the diligence and courage of the working people along the route and promotes all positive and righteous forces in these regions and countries.
