"Silly Symphonies" is a series of animated short films released by Disney over the decade from 1929 to 1939. At the time, it was a very important animation series for Disney outside of the Mickey Mouse series. Although Disney has also produced some animations titled "Silly Symphony," they have long lost the significance this series held in its heyday and therefore cannot be classified as part of this series. The animations from this series in the 1930s had a profound impact on later Disney works and the entire animation industry. The short and compact storylines, paired with beautiful music, are still fondly remembered by animation enthusiasts around the world. The first work to win the Oscar for Best Animated Short Film, "Flowers and Trees," originated from this series.
