A short-form omnibus anime produced by STUDIO4°C, a creative group that has garnered attention from anime fans. It was screened in theaters, albeit as a limited release. What a boy encountered in a corner of a shopping district on a summer day was a strange robot whose body grew longer by devouring machines one after another. What lies ahead for these two, bound by a curious friendship...? (Garakuta no Machi) Note: While four of the five episodes in this work were originally recorded for the DVD magazine "Grasshoppa!" from 2001, "Garakuta no Machi" is a completely new work created specifically for this production. Mamoru Hosoda also participated as the sound director for this "Garakuta no Machi."
