Abu, a mischievous and lively second-grader at Guangming Elementary School, dreams of growing up quickly. However, childhood is always filled with joy, so rather than rushing to grow up, it's better to fully enjoy this brief, innocent, and carefree time. Abu has a good friend named Ganggang, a somewhat reckless little boy who often gets into trouble. Ganggang's deskmate, Lulu, is the class monitor. Like many monitors from our childhood, this girl with bottle-thick glasses is overly responsible, and her catchphrase is, "I'm telling the teacher!"
As seasons change—spring to autumn, cold winters to hot summers—symbols of shared memories for many post-80s children appear one after another: red scarves, little earthworms, the "Little Tyrant" game console, Transformers, creamy popsicles, Contra... This is Abu's childhood, and it is also the childhood of a generation...
