The manga "Atashin'chi" is a slice-of-life comic series with cumulative sales exceeding 10 million copies and has also been adapted into an anime. Its official YouTube channel boasts over 340,000 subscribers and 190 million total views, making it an immensely popular content. The original work resumed serialization in the weekly magazine "AERA" (Asahi Shimbun Publications) at the end of 2019 after a seven-year hiatus. Fans who had eagerly awaited its return expressed great joy, and it even trended on Twitter. Additionally, in November 2021, the first volume of the "Atashin'chi" tankōbon from the AERA serialization will be released.
Now, with the desire to allow more people to enjoy the "Reiwa" era's "Atashin'chi," a movie comic has been produced. It has been decided that it will be streamed on the official "Atashin'chi" YouTube channel from July 6 (Tuesday) to September 14 (Tuesday).
The cast reunites the voice actors from the TV anime broadcast: Kumiko Watanabe (Mother), Fumiko Orikasa (Mikan), Daisuke Sakaguchi (Yuzuhiko), and Kenichi Ogata (Father). You can enjoy the flavor of that classic anime "Atashin'chi" in a new style.
