Smell, in fact, has the strongest effect on memory,
simultaneously triggering human emotions and recollections. We
attempt to convey the experience of scent and its associated memories
through the visual expression of animation.
Hsing-yu receives an inheritance left by her grandmother Tasani—
a spice can and an old photograph. She decides to journey to the location
in the photo, which is also the source of the spice can:
a spice shop in Thailand. There, she will also confront
the long-standing, unresolved heartache buried within her,
stemming from the spice can and spanning many years with her grandmother.
