For ten years, Maowa followed the tattered old Taoist, determined to learn Taoist arts, but the only skill Maowa mastered was making his hair stand on end... One day, ghosts and monsters appeared in the village, followed by all sorts of strange occurrences. The tattered old Taoist revealed to Maowa the secret of his hair: by plucking a single strand, he could manifest any spell he desired. However, the old Taoist demanded that Maowa must wear a mask and never, under any circumstances, let the world know his true identity.
