The "Yue Xiaojiu" series IP tells the story of Yue Xiaojiu, originally a trainee wine god. Just as he was about to ascend to the position of wine god, Xiaojiu attempted to separate the destructive power within him, but lost control and triggered a crisis. To protect him, his friend, the Jian Lake Water God, exhausted his water spirit to suppress the destructive heart, falling into a deep slumber within the waters of Jian Lake, which led to the ancient lake's subsequent ruin. Filled with regret, Yue Xiaojiu no longer desired the role of wine god and decided to remain in the mortal world to care for his friend's water spirit incarnation, naming it Yue Xiao'er, while also seeking an opportunity to awaken his friend Jian Lake. Because Xiao'er lacked the spirit of human emotions and could not maintain a stable form, Yue Xiaojiu settled in the Huangjiu (Yellow Wine) Town and opened a small tavern. Using Huangjiu as a medium, he brews "Worry-Dispelling Wine" to help humans soothe their worries and emotions. The divine bird Defuzhen, who flew from the heavenly court to summon Yue Xiaojiu back to report for duty, also fell in love with the bustling and fascinating mortal world while living with the siblings.
