A little girl finds a rabbit in the vegetable garden—it has run away from its mother, so she treats it like a living doll. She names it "Katya" as her own daughter, wraps it in a diaper, ties bows on its ears, and starts feeding it porridge and candy.
The little rabbit doesn’t eat the candy and keeps trying to roll out of the diaper and escape. When the girl thinks it’s sick, she goes to buy medicine for it. But by then, the other rabbits have figured out where the little one is and decide to rescue it. With the help of other rabbit children, they bring it back to the fields.
