A short, round mushroom always sprouts in a potted plant at my home. As I begin to notice the similarities between myself and this mushroom, my attitude toward it gradually changes.
In the short film "Mushroom," the mushroom serves as a symbol. Through the female protagonist’s reflections on the commonalities she shares with the mushroom growing in her pot and the shift in her feelings toward it, the film explores the impact of women’s self-objectification. It raises the question: when hiding ourselves due to shame over certain feminine traits becomes a daily routine, can we ever truly make peace with who we are?
