In 1930, Buñuel's classic film "The Golden Age" offended the Church and the middle class, leading to his harsh censorship and leaving him without funds to make movies. A friend jokingly said that if he won the lottery, he would finance him—unexpectedly, the joke became reality! Thus, Buñuel, along with his producer friend, cinematographer, and assistant, set out for the most impoverished remote mountain regions of Spain to shoot the documentary "Land Without Bread," witnessing scenes both simple and tragic. Buñuel was constantly haunted by bizarre dreams, which drove his creative work toward extremes and strained his friendship to the brink. Memories, illusions, and reality intertwine to form Buñuel's labyrinth of fantasies!
