In 1972/73, sinologist and situationist René Viénet acquired the rights to Tú Guāngqǐ's 1972 martial arts film *Crush*. Through creative subtitling, he transformed it into a burlesque comedy about clueless French Maoists and street-smart Anarcho-Syndicalists. It became an instant hit during its extremely limited initial release. Later, a second version was produced: the film was dubbed using the dialogue Viénet had written for the subtitles, with a few congenial alterations by the actors. Time passed, and *La dialectique peut-elle casser des briques?* disappeared from circulation, slowly fading into a half-remembered avant-garde myth—its distorted reality primarily encountered online in ultra-poor quality compression. While digitally restoring his legacy and contemplating new projects after decades of silence, Viénet decided to create a third version using digitally rotoscoped moving watercolors! We proudly present the return of *La dialectique peut-elle casser des briques?* in both the rotoscoped and restored dubbed versions.
