As the first Chinese language educational animated series in China, "Hao Hao's Adventure in the Kingdom of Characters: The Battle of Wits in Riddle City" follows the journey of a young boy named Hao Hao, who frequently writes incorrect characters, as he adventures through the Kingdom of Characters. Through the form of a fairy tale, the series imparts methods for distinguishing Chinese characters and their evolution to young audiences. It avoids dry explanations of characters and transforms the traditional rote memorization and tedious teaching methods, subtly imparting knowledge of the Chinese language. The cartoon character designs in the series are incredibly adorable: Hao Hao wears his cap backward with a strand of hair sticking up, showcasing his mischievous and stubborn personality; "Uncle Eraser" has a simple and honest appearance; "Sister Si" is wise and intellectual; "Ink Brother" is small and agile; and the "Ten-Day Brothers" are brave and fearless. Each animated character is vividly portrayed, captivating the audience and leaving them enchanted.
