Tang Poetry is the most brilliant and resonant note in ancient Chinese poetry, a peak unprecedented and unrepeated in the history of Chinese poetic development. Countless Tang poems converge into a magnificent river that, for thousands of years, has nourished Chinese poetry, lyrics, novels, and prose, seeping into the very lifeblood of the Chinese nation's aesthetic sensibilities...
The animated series "Tang Shi Gu Shi" (Tang Poetry Stories), adapted from Tang poetry, selects over a dozen highly representative and influential masterpieces from the works of more than a hundred poets and over a thousand poems for its creation. Faithful to the original works in thought and content, the series delves into, creates, and enriches the narratives based on the poetic framework, authentically reflecting the customs, writing essence, and the poets' intellectual realms of the era. The art design of this series possesses distinct characteristics of Eastern culture and national identity. The overall style is primarily ancient and elegant, emphasizing the depiction and expression of poetic imagery. It fully absorbs the modeling language and drawing techniques from traditional painting, with each episode drawing inspiration from different artistic methods (line drawing, meticulous brushwork with heavy colors, light colors, freehand brushwork, ink wash, folk New Year paintings, etc.) to form a unique stylistic approach, effectively embodying the poetic essence.
In early childhood education, "Tang Shi Gu Shi" has made significant contributions, not only enhancing preschoolers' acquisition of knowledge but also passing down the historical treasure of ancient Chinese literature. It plays a crucial role in elevating children's overall literary literacy.
This series has won numerous awards: "Night Mooring at Maple Bridge" and "Visiting Li Ning's Secluded Dwelling" received the Outstanding Animation Award at the 21st China TV Golden Eagle Awards. "Night Mooring at Maple Bridge" also received an Honorary Award in the Achievement Awards at the 21st China Animation Association Awards. "Seeking Shelter on Lotus Mountain on a Snowy Night" won the Third Prize for Animation at the 6th National Children's Golden Child Awards.
