The baseball-themed work "Ookiku Furikabutte," following the TV series that aired from April to October 2007, will broadcast its second anime season this spring, retaining the production team and voice cast from the first season. The original work is a manga of the same name by Hiroko Higuchi, serialized in Kodansha's monthly magazine "AFTERNOON" since 2003, which won the "New Artist Prize" at the 10th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Awards in 2006. Set in a newly established high school baseball club, the story follows the baseball players as they work together and strive toward the goal of winning the Koshien tournament—a youthful sports tale filled with both the热血 (passionate) moments typical of shonen manga and plenty of comedic elements.
