"Broken-Tailed Mouse" is one of China's earlier television animations, planned in 1983 and completed in 1984. It was a collaborative effort between the Art Film Creation Studio of the China Television Drama Production Center and director He Yumen from the Shanghai Animation Film Studio. The film was featured at the 25th Cannes Film Festival, marking the first time a domestic television animation participated in an international film exhibition. Additionally, in January 1985, Hunan People's Publishing House released a standalone film and drama edition of "Broken-Tailed Mouse," which may be considered one of the earliest derivative products of Chinese television animation.
