"Panda Pangpang" was jointly produced by the China Television Drama Production Center under CCTV, Shanghai Animation Film Studio, and Shanghai Television Animation Studio. The main creative team, including the screenwriter, director, art designer, and composer, all came from Shanghai Animation Film Studio, while the original animation production was completed at Shanghai Television Animation Studio. "Panda Pangpang" consists of two episodes, adapted from the comic series of the same name by cartoonist Du Jianguo. It was written by Ling Shu, directed by Huang Wei, with background design by Qin Yizhen and music composed by Jin Fuzai. According to recollections by Huang Wei and other creators, the first episode premiered on the evening of October 1, 1983, and both its completion and premiere dates predate the single-episode film "The Mouse with a Broken Tail." However, many records from CCTV indicate that the series was produced and broadcast in 1984.
