This anime, adapted from Ken Liu's short stories and helmed by Craig Silverstein, the creator of "TURN," follows the story of Maddie, a bullied teenager who receives mysterious help online one day. She soon discovers that the person assisting her is actually her recently deceased father, David. David participated in an experiment that resulted in the destruction of his brain, but in reality, his brain was scanned and uploaded to the cloud, making him the first case of a new species known as "Uploaded Intelligence" (UI). However, his existence is about to trigger a new kind of world war.
