On the distant planet of Gobotron, a great war is unfolding between robots. These robots possess the ability to transform into vehicles or weapons, yet the energy they rely on for survival is gradually depleting. 　　 The righteous side, known as the "Guardians," is led by Leader-1, who can transform into a fighter jet. The evil side, called the "Renegades," is commanded by Cy-Kill, who can transform into a motorcycle. They clash fiercely over energy resources, eventually shifting the battlefield to Earth, where they engage in relentless battles back and forth... 　　 The prototype of Challenge of the GoBots is the Go-Bots robot toys produced by the American company Tonka in 1982. These were conceptual transforming robots that appeared earlier than Transformers. However, they ultimately lost out to the latter due to their crude production and simplistic design.
