The young protagonist Luo Xiaobu sells his happiness to the acquisition agent Mao Juanjuan from the Land of Sorrow in exchange for perfect scores on every exam, winning every game he plays, and two different flavors of ice cream each day. But how painful life becomes without happiness! Thus, Xiaobu asks Mao Juanjuan to shrink him, and together with his newfound companion Moon Dog, he embarks on a challenging journey to reclaim his happiness. The story is filled with a dazzling array of novel and adorable characters: there's the Elf Valley where happy spirits reside, a stream where every droplet of water is brimming with joy, as well as surprise fruits, dancing grass, mask flowers, and tickle trees. There is also a group of peculiar little beings—dung beetles named Keng Keng and Qiang Qiang, the old carp Bobei, and the joy-spreading Happy Beans. They are all messengers of love, the hyacinths of happiness.
