Beside the ancient town of Guguna lies a vast forest, home to rare trees over a thousand years old, known by the people as the "Sacred Tree Grove." Rich in resources, the Sacred Tree Grove is not only the foundation of the town's livelihood but also once saved the entire town during a plague. Thus, the people of Guguna deeply respect the trees, and throughout generations, the leaders have been carpenters skilled in woodcraft—honored with the title "Wooden One."
Sixteen years ago, the Sacred Tree Grove faced a fungal crisis. The 32nd Wooden One, Yan Zhuang, issued a ban on entering the grove, entrusted Guguna to the care of Zhan Bo and Ai Mei, and ventured alone into the grove to heal the trees. Beside a large banyan tree, he discovered the newborn child of the forest ranger couple. Yan Zhuang named the child Mi Li, and little Mi Li grew up following Yan Zhuang, learning to plant saplings and heal trees, becoming his trusted helper.
Sixteen years later, with news of the Sacred Tree Grove's revival, the young Mi Li arrives in Guguna from the grove. There, he meets the clever and adorable sisters of the imperial-awarded Cat Noodle Shop—the 18th-generation proprietor Xiao Yu and her younger sister A Liang. Meanwhile, relying on the carpentry skills he acquired from growing up in the Sacred Tree Grove and his deep understanding of trees and wood, Mi Li passes a series of rigorous tests set by Zhan Bo. Through strict training and resolving crises one after another, he earns the recognition of everyone.
Mi Li's arrival disrupts the tranquility of Guguna and the peaceful lives of the A Liang sisters. Not only does he bring the good news of the Sacred Tree Grove's revival, but he also reintroduces the Wooden One into Guguna's history. Here, Mi Li will continue to grow, learning how to become a carpenter and the new generation Wooden One of Guguna.
