In 1983, two-year-old Tilikum was captured by humans in Iceland, thus beginning his journey as a performer in aquariums. Between 1991 and 2010, Tilikum killed three staff members during performances. Afterward, he was confined for a long time in a small pool, which led to the development of mental illness and incurable diseases. On January 6, 2017, Tilikum passed away.
