"Fightension☆School" is a children's program that aired from July 7, 2007, to March 29, 2008, every Saturday from 7:00 to 7:30 on TV Tokyo Network and BS Japan, among others (BS Japan and TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting aired with a time delay). It serves as the sequel to the children's program "Fightension☆Department Store," which aired on the TV Tokyo network until March 2007. Common abbreviations include Faisuku and Fai☆Suku.
The show is an anime-complex variety program combining short-form anime with children's variety segments. The term "Fightension" in the title is a coined word meaning a state of excitement that surpasses "high tension."
The program was primarily produced in a 4:3 aspect ratio. However, unlike its predecessor, which was purely 4:3, this version featured real-time display of program information (such as episode titles, subtitles, character introductions, small gags, and comedic retorts) on both sides of the screen during terrestrial digital and BS digital broadcasts.
In the variety segments, while the previous "~Department Store" used CG backgrounds, this version features desks arranged against a white background.
Only the terrestrial broadcast supports closed captioning. For the anime segments, captions do not appear even when caption display is turned on. Captions are only available for the variety corners (and do not require turning on the display).
