The anime depicts the peaceful yet lively daily lives of Amigurumi Ami (actually, the cotton stuffing inside the amigurumi is her true form), Hiyoko Mama, and the green turtle Okame-san. The characters, created by illustrator & planner JINCO, are brought to life in animation. This marks the directorial debut of Kasai Kenichi (credited as Kasai Kenichi at the time), who also directed series such as *Wagamama☆Fairy Milmo de Pon!* and *Honey and Clover*. The protagonist, Ami, is voiced by idol Miyakawa Mika.
