Nineteenth-century China. The protagonist, Liu Maoxing, became the youngest person in history to pass the "Special Grade Chef Exam," a qualification considered the pinnacle of Chinese culinary arts. Following the advice of his mentor, Zhou Yu, he traveled across southwestern China with his companion Shiro and the sole female member, Meili, to broaden his horizons as a chef. Upon returning to Guangzhou's "Yangquan Restaurant," Maoxing gained new allies, Xie Er and Lei En, and resolved to confront the "Dark Cooking World," an organization with the ambition of "controlling people through cuisine." Amidst this, he learned the secret of the eight "Legendary Cooking Utensils," said to protect the Chinese culinary world. In the past, Maoxing's mother, Bai, fought fiercely against the "Dark Cooking World" in her wish for everyone's happiness. Inheriting his mother's legacy, Maoxing embarks on a grand journey with his four companions to protect the "Legendary Cooking Utensils," scattered across the Chinese mainland, from the clutches of the "Dark Cooking World."
