Xia Xiaodou is a 5-year-old kitten. Attending kindergarten, Xia Xiaodou appears before people all day wearing a red headscarf. He has a little dog companion, Xia Xiaoya, who is by his side day and night, as well as a loving dog father, Xia Lulu, and a dog mother, Mali. A cat named Shadow often follows Xia Xiaodou, seizing every possible opportunity to reveal the truth about his origins—why he looks different from the people of the "Dog Kingdom" yet lives among them—and tries every means to take Xiaodou away. However, Xia Xiaodou lives harmoniously in the world of dogs, creating many amusing stories along the way.
