Les Grandes Grandes Vacances is an animated series broadcast in 2015 on France 3, which tells the story of World War II and the occupation from a child's perspective. In September 1939, Colette and Ernest are taken in by their maternal grandparents in a fictional village named Grangeville1, near Dieppe in Normandy. Their summer holiday turns into an extended stay due to their father's mobilization and their mother's poor health, who must leave for treatment in a sanatorium. The two young Parisians discover life in the countryside during wartime. The Occupation, the Resistance, hardships, but also life with friends.
