Psychotherapist Ruben's dreams are plagued by "monstrous" famous paintings, with Mona Lisa and Venus transforming into terrifying nightmare creatures. The only way for him to sleep peacefully is to steal all the masterpieces invading his dreams. To help Ruben escape his nightmares, he teams up with four uniquely skilled patients to form a crew, targeting major art museums like the Louvre and the Tate Modern. Thus begins a daring, high-flying, and elaborate heist plan.
Drawing from his background as a painter, director Milorad Krstić extensively references the vast history of art, using Picasso's Cubist style as the foundation for character design. The film not only incorporates works by masters like Van Gogh and Andy Warhol but also pays homage to classic films such as *The Godfather* and *Rashomon*. Even Hitchcock makes an unprecedented appearance. With an Easter egg every ten seconds, it is hailed as the animated version of *Ready Player One*. The film also delves into the hidden history of the East German era and is acclaimed as the most significant European animated film since *The Triplets of Belleville*.
