High school student Honda Tohru, after losing her mother who was her only family, begins living alone in a tent. However, the place where Tohru pitched her tent happens to be within the territory of the historically prestigious "Sohma family"! Invited by Sohma Shigure, Tohru becomes a live-in maid for the Sohma family and ends up living with Sohma Yuki, who is like a prince at school, and Sohma Kyo, who sees Yuki as a rival.
