Episode 34 of the Tom and Jerry theatrical short series.
In a quiet, large house, the little canary Cuckoo is dozing in its cage. Suddenly, noisy commotion erupts in the room—it turns out the feuding duo Tom and Jerry are at it again, chasing each other around and smashing plenty of furniture and dishes along the way. Finally, the tiny Jerry is cornered by Tom and seems about to become his old rival’s meal. At this critical moment, Cuckoo bravely intervenes, removing the base of its cage, which lands squarely on Tom’s head, leaving him dazed and seeing stars. Just when Tom was about to catch Jerry, an unexpected obstacle appears out of nowhere, infuriating Tom, who then turns his pursuit toward Cuckoo. Seeing Cuckoo in danger because of him, Jerry returns the favor by helping Cuckoo evade Tom’s chase. Through this ordeal, they become good friends. Despite repeated setbacks, the persistent Tom refuses to give up—he is determined to catch these two pesky little creatures…
The title is a pun on the American novel and its adapted radio drama and film "Kitty Foyle" (also translated as Kitty Foyle: The Natural History of a Woman, Woman of the Year, etc.).
The background music features excerpts from the opera *The Barber of Seville* and the Scottish folk song "Auld Lang Syne." The melody whistled by Jerry and Cuckoo at the end comes from the American pop song "My Blue Heaven."
