Synopsis:
A mother cat gives birth to two kittens: a strong black kitten named Xiao Bao and a weak white kitten named Xiao Bei. Xiao Bei is so frail that even his meow sounds like a mouse's squeak, but he always insists, "I can do it!"
During an unexpected incident, Xiao Bei is "found" by a boy nicknamed "Little Mischief," who gives him to his younger cousin from the countryside. On the way home, Xiao Bei falls out of the car and ends up lost in the grasslands. From then on, he embarks on a journey to find his way back home.
On the grasslands, Xiao Bei encounters a vicious wolf and a cunning snake who want to eat him, but he also meets helpful friends like a little hedgehog, a toad, and a rabbit named Duoduo, who becomes his close companion. Duoduo suggests that climbing the tallest tree on the highest mountain might help Xiao Bei spot his home. Bidding farewell to Duoduo, Xiao Bei sets off on an even more challenging journey. With his unwavering determination and belief in "I can do it," he overcomes numerous obstacles, outwits a fox, a ferret, and a wicked wolf, and receives help from forest friends like the lynx Da Hua, Grandpa Turtle, the flying squirrel Feifei, the fawn Dian Dian, and a herd of deer.
When two poachers arrive in the forest and capture Da Hua and a group of small animals, Xiao Bei bravely and cleverly outmaneuvers the hunters, rescuing Da Hua and the other animals. He even sneaks into the hunters' truck to return to the city. Back in the city, Xiao Bei helps the police capture the two poachers.
Finally, Xiao Bei reunites with his mother, whom he had missed day and night, and meets his brother Xiao Bao again. To everyone's amazement, the once weak little white kitten has grown into a tall and mighty "little leopard." Xiao Bei softly tells his mother, "Thank you to my friends in the forest. I still want to go back and visit them..." His mother gently replies, "My Xiao Bei has finally grown up..."
