Light snowflakes drift down, marking the arrival of another Christmas. Yet, in the shop of the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge, there is no hint of festive spirit. He grants his employee Mickey Mouse half a day off, only to deduct half a day's wages; he declines his nephew Donald Duck's invitation to a Christmas party and even turns away kind-hearted people collecting donations for the poor. In his view, nothing in the world matters except making money. As night falls, Scrooge returns alone to his empty, cold house, only to be confronted by the ghost of his long-deceased friend. His friend, punished severely for his own miserliness, warns Scrooge to mend his ways and prepare for the visit of three spirits. Deep into the night, the three spirits arrive one after another, taking Scrooge on a journey through his past, allowing him to witness Mickey's humble yet joyful Christmas dinner, and revealing to him his own doomed and hopeless future...
