At 7:15 in the morning, the alarm clock blares loudly. A balding middle-aged man reluctantly turns off the alarm and rises wearily to wash up. His room is rather peculiar—whether it’s the floor lamp, dressing table, dining table, chair, or coat rack, each is played by a human being. These people are expressionless, diligently carrying out their duties. The man gets dressed, leaves the house, and hires a human-powered taxi to head to work. In this fantastical world, all tools are replaced by humans. They perform their roles without complaint, forming an essential part of this cold, mechanized society...
This film has won the Jury Award at the 2009 ANIMA-Córdoba International Animation Festival, the FIPRESCI Prize at the 2009 Annecy International Animated Film Festival, and the Best Short Film Award at the 2009 L’Alternativa Festival de Cinema Independent de Barcelona.
