Rintaro Okabe, a university student who still suffers from "chuunibyou" and calls himself a "mad scientist," along with his friends, accidentally invents D-MAIL, a method to send messages to the past. This leads to a future where a friend's death recurs despite repeated alterations of the past (shifts in the world line)... The glimmer of hope that appears before the despairing Okabe is a future where no one dies—a world line known as the "Steins Gate." Crossing various timelines to unravel mysteries, Okabe finally reaches the "Steins Gate." However, his mind, having traversed countless world lines, begins to bear a massive "burden"...
