Pixar animator Dave Mullins posted a short video on Instagram announcing that he will direct a brand-new animated short film for Pixar titled "LOU." Although no specific release date was given, following past conventions, "LOU" is highly likely to premiere alongside "Cars 3" next June.
In the video, Dave Mullins used time-lapse photography to showcase a drawing he created. While the image reveals limited information, it can be inferred that the title "LOU" is derived from "Lost and Found," and the protagonist of the short film is hidden inside a lost-and-found box—unclear whether it is a toy or something else.
Dave Mullins has worked at Pixar for 15 years and has contributed to every Pixar feature film from 2001 to the present. "LOU" marks his directorial debut as an independent director.
