While playing with a Rubik's Cube, Laike suddenly finds the cube growing larger. Curious, he enters the world inside the cube. It turns out that the Magic Cube Tower is composed of twenty-six "Cube Kingdoms," including fascinating realms such as Parents in Cans, Glass Kingdom, Train Kingdom, and the Constellation Cruise Ship. Laike embarks on a series of magical adventures across these kingdoms.
The first episode, "Glass City," the second episode, "Parents in Cans," and the third episode, "The Magical Calendar" won second prize at the Second China Film and Television Animation Exhibition. The eighth episode, "Helmet City," received the 1993 Outstanding Film Award from the Ministry of Radio, Film, and Television and was nominated for the 14th China Film Golden Rooster Award.
Originally planned as a 26-episode series, "Magic Cube Tower" was halted after 10 episodes due to the loss of professional talent and insufficient funding.
