In the countryside of Gifu Prefecture, a German Shepherd named Serve becomes the guide dog for the Kameyama couple. On a heavy snow day, Serve suffers a severe injury, losing his left front leg while protecting his owner from a slipping car... Based on a true story, the anime adds original elements by introducing a foster family that raises the young Serve, expanding the narrative through the interactions between Serve and the family's two children. With the cooperation of the Chubu Guide Dog Association, the training process of guide dogs is also meticulously depicted. The director is veteran animator Seiji Okuda, who has been active in the anime industry since the 1963 series "Tetsujin 28-go." Additionally, Shuichi Seki, known for his character designs in "World Masterpiece Theater," is responsible for the character design of this work.
