On July 6, 2017, China Central Television (CCTV) announced a collaboration with American company Hasbro to co-produce an animated series titled "Ne Zha and Transformers."
Below is the detailed announcement released by CCTV: A delegation of ten executives from Hasbro, including Global CEO Stephen Davis, visited CCTV Animation Co., Ltd. to discuss the co-production of the animated project "Ne Zha and Transformers." The two parties reached a consensus on production standards, broadcast schedules, intellectual property rights, and legal matters. Both sides also expressed their anticipation for establishing a more stable strategic partnership, deeply exploring the brand value of classic animation IPs, and further revitalizing the brand potential of existing animation IPs. The "Ne Zha and Transformers" project is a milestone in Sino-American animation cooperation. Prior to this, CCTV Animation had engaged in multiple rounds of communication with the American side regarding distribution, licensing, and derivative product development, actively advancing the collaboration and implementation of the project.
