"New Weiqi Youth" tells the story of the young chess player Jiang Liuer in the turbulent fictional Great Ming Dynasty. For the stability of the country and to spare the people from the ravages of war, he is compelled to participate, as a Weiqi player, in a life-and-death battle between the Ming Emperor and the Prince of You for control of the realm. This is an animated series that portrays the youth, passion, inspiration, and romance of chess players and martial artists. Set against the backdrop of the Ming Dynasty's Weiqi arena and martial world, the story uses exaggerated animation elements to showcase the indomitable fighting spirit of Ming chess players and martial artists on both the Weiqi board and the martial arts stage.
