A dreamlike world where nothing but cats can be seen in every direction. This is the world of "Cat Town," the representative work by author Sakutaro Hagiwara, which depicts the illusions and terrors encountered by a human who has strayed into an unknown subspace. Artist Etsuko Kanaida expresses this world with a new sensibility through her prints and colors. The narration is handled by writer Kō Machida, who is active as a musician, poet, and actor, while director Shōjirō Urahama, an editor known for numerous works primarily in commercials, helms this uniquely textured, fantastical "picture animation" work.
